Best experience was from: Sram 990 cassette, X9 (or XO) rear derailleur, Shimano XT front derailleur, Sram X9 (X7) shifters and Sram 971 chain.

I've always ridden a 2x9 set-up until I got my Yeti. Now that I've had a chance to experience a 2x10 set-up, I still prefer my old 2x9. I find the 2x9 simpler - less gears to toggle through. Plus, 9 speeds are more price point. Although, I must admit my 2x10 is pretty smooth.

Thanks Lloyd! The bars are only 680mm wide. I don't like my bars too wide because I ride on some tight/narrow trails here and there. As for my drivetrain, I run 2x10 with X9 rear derailleur, Shimano SLX front and X7 shifters. The red thing is actually Orange - its a Straitline bash ring.
